Love-Star Alexis – Pan American Games Tennis
My name is Love-Star Alexis, a 23-year-old professional tennis player. Born in Haiti, I moved to Canada with my family at the age of five. I discovered tennis at the age of nine, and my love for the game has only grown since. During my junior years, I participated in Canadian championships, won titles, and gained attention for my determination. To further my skills, I spent two years at Montverde Academy in Florida, where I was coached by Jaime Oncins, a former top 30 world player. I then earned a full scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and, due to COVID-19, benefited from an additional year to develop my abilities. I recently transferred to West Virginia University (WVU) to take advantage of their exceptional facilities and rigorous competition. In July of 2023, I participated at the Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador, where I represented Haiti. In October of that same year, I had the honor of representing Haiti at the Pan American Games, an invaluable experience. I currently am ranked 323 in the international tennis rankings.
I truly enjoy helping people, especially athletes. With a bachelor’s degree in social work, a minor in psychology, and a master’s degree in Sport Management, I have developed a strong foundation in understanding and supporting others. My experience and background have equipped me with the skills to effectively assist and guide athletes in their personal and professional journeys. I am confident that my passion for helping others, combined with my educational and professional experiences, will enable me to be a valuable resource for many.
