Eric Kritsch – Obstacle Course Racing World Championships

Sports Mentor
“Everyone fails at who they're supposed to be. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are."

My name is Eric Kritsch. I was raised in Barrie and currently live in Collingwood, Ontario. My journey into sports & fitness began what I started training in Martial Arts (Goju Ryu Karate) at the age of 6. By the time I was 16, I had started lifting weights and competing in both Karate & Wrestling. This set the stage for what would become my career and at 21, I became a Personal Trainer, Kickboxing Coach and Karate Instructor (specifically for teens/ young adults) I also began competing in Judo. In 2014, I took on a new challenge by going competitive in Marathon racing and Obstacle Course Racing. I’ve had podium finishes in Spartan Race & Dead End Race and top 10 finishes in Mudhero, Spartan Trail & MEC Series. This propelled me forward and in 2019, I qualified for the OCR World Championships in London, England as part of the Canadian Team. In recent years, pushing myself to compete in the HYROX challenge series and training for a 2025/2026 IRONMAN Triathlon are my current goals & focus. In my spare time I serve as a member of the Georgian Bay Search & Rescue.

When I’m not competing or doing Martial Arts, I take on the role of movement specialist. As a Personal Trainer I focus on corrective exercise, ergonomic training, injury prevention, and for those looking to compete, sport conditioning. I serve as a performance coach for new runners and operate my own personal business coaching first responders. I help them pass their fitness exams, maintain peak performance, and recover from post-service injuries.
