Alanna Doxtdator – Wilfrid Laurier University Lacrosse

Sports Mentor
“I’d rather regret the risks that didn’t work out than the chances I didn’t take at all.” —Simone Biles

I’m Alanna Doxtdator, and my journey in sports has been a lifelong passion that now fuels my role as a coach and athlete mentor at Athletes United. I grew up playing lacrosse and hockey, eventually playing lacrosse at Wilfrid Laurier University. Here I learned the value of dedication and teamwork. Those formative years shaped not just my skills but also my desire to guide others on their own athletic journeys.

Transitioning from player to coach has been a natural progression for me. Currently, I coach both youth hockey and lacrosse teams, where I strive to instill not only the technical side of the game but also the importance of sportsmanship and personal growth. Every day, I see the potential in young athletes to not only excel in their sport but also to develop into confident, resilient individuals.

As an athlete mentor, I’m deeply passionate about advocating for mental health awareness in sports. I integrate mindfulness techniques, stress management strategies, and open dialogue into my coaching approach, ensuring that my athletes feel supported and empowered to navigate the pressures of competition.
